The idea behind the documentary came from my own complicity. Prior to this project, I did gig photography and lived in Bristol without a second thought for what others may experience on the daily. My bubble was shattered when I was diagnosed with Freiburg's Disease and chronic pain started to overtake my foot. Things like walking became increasingly difficult which led to me having to stop working in the music industry as a result of inaccessible features and pain. As my condition progressed, I started using crutches and was no longer able to access events in the same way my peers did and this was a lightbulb moment for me.
What initially started out as a means of documenting my own journey, turned into something much bigger that took me all over the country. Speaking to experts in industry as well as those who run venues themselves, this documentary explores the ideas (and controversy) around putting in accessible measures. Living in a city that prides itself for it's diverse music scene, catering the film to Bristol's venues and culture was only fitting.
